Type I Sydney Mints

The number of Type I half sovereigns struck at the Sydney Mint in 1855 and 1856 was tiny - perhaps less than 50 examples of the 1855 half sovereign remain in existence. A Type I half sovereign in any condition is a tangible link to the boom days of Australia's first gold rush.
