Halfpenny King George V 1923 PCGS AU50BN

Obverse: Coronate bust of George V to right, legend around

Reverse: Denomination within legend, date below

Stronger detail than most, far cheaper than it used to be.

With the transition to the PCGS grading standard that we have gone through over the past few years, there has been some adjustment in prices for certain coins in various grades - the 1923 halfpenny is a prime example.

Certain coins that were highly valued when "raw" no longer bring the same money, while others bring now bring far more once they've been graded.

This particular coin has great detail both sides, and is far cheaper than it would have traded for when "raw" just a few short years ago.

The 1923 halfpenny has long been considered as being scarce in any quality, and quite rare when the 8 pearls in the base of the King's crown are clear and distinct.

If you check our obverse image, you'll see that the King's crown, face and body detail all remain quite sharp - this level of detail is simply not seen on coins in lesser quality.

I firmly believe that it is great value for money at this price.
