2011 Four $1 Coin Privy Mark Set Ram's Head

Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne

A complete set of these hugely popular coins struck for 2011.

The mintmark one dollar series is hugely popular right around the country - these coins are affordable, scarce and really well presented, which is why they're put away by parents, grandparents and keen collectors as soon as they're released.

There are always new collectors coming into the market each year, when many of them decide to get the back issues, it means there's plenty of healthy competition for the few that come onto the market! Not only do most collectors want one of each design, they want one of each mintmark that was used.

The reverse of the 2011 commemorative dollar coin features a ram's head - the much-loved design that featured on the tails side of Australia's shillings between 1938 and 1964, and was also revived on the 1991 fifty cent commemorative coin that marked 25 years since the introduction of decimal currency.

This set contains the ‘C’ mintmark $1 coin, as well as the privy mark coins struck for Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne.

The ‘C’ mintmark could not be purchased in any other format, unless you visited the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra, and struck a coin on the Gallery Press.
