AUSTRALIANS AWARDED. 2008. The first and last book any collector of Australian war medals requires.
Australian military decorations share much of the same "space" as Australian coins and notes - medals are roughly the same size as our larger coins, they're often made of precious metals (mainly silver), and are regarded as family heirlooms, much as most valuable coins are. I know from my own personal experience that military decorations can be enigmatic in their appeal however, for the uninitiated even the most readily awarded medal can appear as something inaccessible when there's a lack of knowledge about it's background. Australians Awarded, edited by the Brisbane-based war medal dealer Clive Johnson, is regarded as the complete reference and standard guide to all Australian Military and Civilian Decorations and Awards issued between 1815 and 2007. It includes over 400 pages of detailed information in full colour printed on gloss paper. Not only is this the first and last book any collector of Australian war medals requires, it's superbly presented to boot. |
