An important book for any Australian banknote collector.

It's a shame that a lot of the best books on Australian numismatics are no longer in print - many novice collectors don't know they exist - probably because they're often impossible to find!

Even though this book was printed some 45 years ago, the information that you'll find in it complements the excellent work done by Mick Vort-Ronald in his books on Australian notes. Smaller titles such as this have little tit-bits of information that relate to certain note issues that aren't contained in other texts, and any extra bit of information can be worth thousands of dollars to the educated collector that uses the knowledge wisely.

I find that Tomlinson's book includes some excellent information on Pre-Federation notes that isn't seen elsewhere, he also covers various aspects of the history of our pre-decimal notes that isn't covered in the other books on Australian notes.

There are probably half a dozen titles that any serious Australian note collector should have in their library - this is one of them!
