Greg McDonald Collecting & Investing In Australian Banknotes Self-Published Umina Beach (NSW) 1990 475 pages 16*24cm Hardcover ISBN:187 538 900 8 Very Good An important book for any collector of Australian coins & banknotes. It's a shame that a lot of the best books on Australian coins & banknotes are no longer in print - it can be impossible for the novice collector to know that such books exist, then they have to be found! This book is certainly one that any Australian collector should have - it has detailed information on each and every series within Australian numismatics, as well as a range of additional information that will help collectors and investors alike go about their business. I don't believe that it's a definitive work in and of itself, however I certainly do believe that it's one of the first 3 books that any serious collector of Australian coins & notes should buy. (McDonald's pocket guide is the first, Myatt & Hanley's book "Australian Coins, Notes & Medals" is second, probably equal to this one. A solid read of this book will give you an excellent overview of the Australian numismatic market, and answers a lot of questions that novice collectors always have. Not only that - this copy's in excellent nick! |
