The "Decade of the Dollar Coin" commemorative, struck to incredible proof condition in pure silver.

The proof silver one dollar coins are the second most popular products that the RAM makes each year (the mint sets have been best sellers for decades!), largely due to the unique beauty and appeal of the coins when struck in silver.

There's something about seeing these commemorative designs when they've been struck in pure silver - the frosted relief on a mirrored background makes them stand out really well, and they look far better than they do when (if!) you can get them out of your change.

The "Decade of the Dollar" coin was fairly intriguing when it first came out - here's a coin that not only honours a banknote, but also commemorates itself! It wasn't hugely popular when it first came out, but the enigmatic design has grown on collectors over the years.
