An important book for any collector of Australian Coins & Banknotes.

It's a shame that a lot of the best book on Australian numismatics are no longer in print - many novice collectors don't know they exist - probably because they're often impossible to find.

This book is certainly important for any collector of Australian coins & banknotes, if only for the fact it lists a lot of specimen / pattern coins and notes that aren't listed in the standard price guides.

This book also contains what I reckon is still the most comprehensive listing of Australian tradesman's tokens yet put into print. Later price guides put out by Renniks do have token listings included in them intermittently, however this edition includes far more photos of the tokens than the later editions do, which can be of fundamental use when identifying new acquisitions.

I find the layout of the tokens in this book to be the easiest to understand - even though the prices are obviously now out of date (it was printed close to 2 decades ago now!), it is often the first book I'll pick up to start my research on a token, specimen or pattern coin.

It should be in any decent Australian numismatic library.
