Description:

One Pound Consecutive Pair 1927 Riddle/Heathershaw R# 26

Uncirculated

Serials: K/9 529235-236

Crisp and natural paper - great body.

The Riddle Heathershaw signature combination is the most affordable in the "Harrison" series of pre-decimal notes. This relative availability reflects the stability of Australia's economy and note printing process between 1927 and 1932.

The Harrison series was on issue for the decade running between June 1923 and August 1933. Several different signatories appeared during this ten year period, some of them were used for relatively short periods of time.

In addition to those different pairs of signatures, a number of changes were made to the way Australia's notes were printed during that decade. Several changes were made to the format of the serial numbers, as well as to the signature type and the attribution of the note printer.

All of these changes mean that the Riddle Heathershaw £1 notes are far and away the most affordable that were issued with these rich green designs.

Both of these notes retain full-bodied, granular paper, sharp corners and edges right the way around.
