Australia's largest pre-decimal silver commemorative coin, in average circulated condition.

The 1937 crown was struck at a time of high excitement throughout the British Commonwealth - the coronation of King George VI.

Due to it's weight and bulk, the coin wasn't particularly well received in everyday transactions, however it was undoubtedly treasured as a keepsake of the King's coronation, and has long been seen as a solid store of value.

Collectors are prepared to pay well over $1,000 to get a 1937 crown in exceptional condition these days, however average circulated coins are certainly far more affordable.

Not only are they acquired by collectors keen to complete a set of Australian pre-decimal coins, they are also "stacked" by silver bugs interested in affordable silver coins that have some degree of scarcity about them.

The 1937 crowns we offer here are in average circulated condition - most of them will grade Very Fine, occasionally there may be one with some lustre and will grade Extremely Fine.

The quality of the coins you get will depend solely on what we have available - we'll select the best coins we have available for your order, however you should expect to get circulated coins without lustre - if we have anything better we'll include it, however we make no guarantees.

The advertised price is for one coin, however you're welcome to purchase as many as you like.
