$50 NOTE 1974 YAA First Prefix Phillips/Wheeler about Unc

Superb paper quality, with several teller flicks (dang RBA staff!)

This note was removed from a special collector product released by the Reserve Bank of Australia and Note Printing Australia in 1994 - it was named the “Triple Anniversary Portfolio.”.

The Triple Anniversary Portfolio commemorated the three different anniversaries of paper notes that were circulating in Australia in 1994, and included one of each of the first five dollar, fifty dollar and hundred dollar paper notes ever printed in Australia.

All of the notes included in these portfolios were taken from Reserve Bank archives, had matched serial numbers, and were of course incredibly rare.

Despite the appeal that the ex-RBA archive notes such as this one have, some collectors do prefer first prefix notes that were printed for circulation.

First prefix notes such as this one will appeal to a collector that is keen on getting notes that have the lowest serial numbers possible.

This particular note is of course crisp and natural, and althogh it obviously never entered circulation, it does have several teller flicks on the right hand side, hence the grade.

We believe the ask price of this note more than takes those flicks into consideration - it remains in excellent quality.
