Description:

1991 $10 Note Paper Fraser/Cole With plate letter R313a Uncirculated 1991 $10 Note Paper Fraser/Cole With PIL R313a Uncirculated

With full sheen right across both sides.

Recent research by the numismatist Dennis Wood has shown that part way through the production of the Fraser / Cole $10 notes, NPA stopped using Plate Identification Letters (PIL’s).

An explanation for this change isn’t yet widely known, however it appears that notes without the plate letters came towards the end of the production run.

The location of the plate letter is on the left hand side of the front of the note, within the black intaglio design about 25mm above the “W” in B.W.Fraser’s signature.
