Description:

2006 Fifty Cent Royal Visit Prestige Coin and Stamp Booklet

An innovative coin & stamp folder marking the Queen's visit in 2006.

The 2006 50 cent Royal Uncirculated 50¢ coin in this folder was designed to celebrate the Queen's Royal Visit to Australia during 2006.

The Royal Visit coin has long been described as representing "the stability of the Crown contrasted with the rapid growth of Australia”.

When sold individually, the fifty cent UNC in this folder was presented in a "regally coloured" (purple) presentation card.

The individual coins were sold out before most collectors even knew about them, and even though they weren't particularly expensive to begin with, they're in keen demand with 50¢ collectors - now that's a massive market.

There are a few unique combinations in the stamps alone - the first example is the block of four 1963 stamps that have been reprinted for this booklet.
