Bold details to the portrait.

The Roman goddess Annona is the divine personification of the (annual) grain supply to the city of Rome. Essentially a creation of Imperial Rome, she is intended to variously represent the emperor's ability to provide for the Roman people; to represent confidence in the wealth of the Roman Empire; and even to celebrate Rome's independence from Egypt with respect to wheat and grain.

This particular coin includes a superb representation of this goddess, and by extension, the stability and prosperity of Antoninus Pius' reign.
