Queen Victoria 1889 Gold SOVEREIGN Sydney Mint

Obverse: Queen Victoria Jubilee Head (Legend two, Normal JEB)

Reverse: St George & Dragon Short tail

Reference #'s: Mc178a, S# 3868B

PCGS have graded just one example of this coin finer.

The vast majority of the mint-state Jubilees in existence come from mint rolls or bags, released into the numismatic market by European Central banks between the 1970's and the 1990's.

The vast majority of these coins will not grade any finer than MS 61 (if at all).

Jubilee head sovereigns are very seldom seen with minimal bagmarks in the fields - PCGS have designated this coin as MS 63.
