If you're a regular visitor to our site, you will have noticed that things look a little different these days!
Version 3 of our website is now live, and apart from a few bugs we're pretty happy with it - we think it looks great, and more importantly it includes a few new features that you asked for. Namely:
- A site-wide search box, now visible at the top of every page;
- An improved "list view" of the products we have for sale - preview images of both sides of each item are now accessible, and the fact you can click through to the "detail view" of each item is now made more prominent by the "read more" link at the end of the short description;
- A new category in our online shop called "Our Latest Acquisitions", which lists all the new products we've purchased in the past few weeks. I expect this will save regular visitors a lot of time in checking what's been added to the site since they last came;
- We turned the damn feedback links off! The feedback tool that we had before was definitely useful - I wouldn't have had any idea some clients were having difficulties with accessing our site, so from that point of view it was a godsend. It certainly wasn't a godsend for those regular site visitors who were getting pestered for feedback each and every time you visited the site - I know what feedback I would've given if I were in your shoes! It's turned off now, so you'll be able to surf in peace;
There's been a number of other changes that aren't quite as visible, but they're all about making sure you get to see the images and information you need to be able to make an informed decision about buying or selling.
I'm in the process of testing a new bit of software that'll enable me to literally walk you through these new features, so click on the video below to see our revised site in action:
If there's anything that sucks or is cool about the revised site, I'd really appreciate you letting me know - no need to hold back for fear of being impolite! Just send me an email or click the comments link at the bottom of any page to let me know what you think.
