Rare Pre Decimal Proof, Specimen and Pattern Coins

Pre-decimal Specimen Pattern and Proof coins image

Pattern, proof and specimen coins are the first coins struck whenever coinage is being introduced or changed in a major way. Only small numbers are made and because of their very nature they are extremely rare, historic and exclusive reaching up to prices of over $30,000.

Collectors gain a great deal of satisfaction from owning the very first coin struck of a particular denomination or design, and are always keen to pay a premium in order to obtain items closely related to pivotal events in our economic history.
