COUNTERFEIT $50 NOTES IN TASMANIA

The Sydney Morning Herald (and quite a few other newspapers as well) ran a story last week about some counterfeit polymer $50 notes circulating in Hobart. Due to the pretty good security devices incorporated into the polymer notes these days, it really can be tough to pass them. Most counterfeit notes are passed either in really busy retail outlets, or in places that are dark and dingy (think of a nightclub, pub or racetrack). Those of us that don't visit those places too often should be pretty safe.....
