This is an intact bundle of the last paper $10 notes issued in Australia.
The Fraser Cole ten-dollar notes were first released into circulation in May 1991, and were replaced by the polymer ten-dollar notes in October 1993 - they've now been out of circulation for nearly three decades.
Although many Australians hoarded a lot of paper notes in the lower denominations (particularly $1 and $2 notes), very few had the funds to be able to keep aside runs (let alone bundles) of the higher denomination notes in perfect condition.
Due to their rarity and the "cool" factor, bundles of paper decimal notes are an emerging series for collectors to get into - we know a number of collectors who are working on getting one bundle of each denomination, while other collectors are going much further and are getting one bundle of each signature combination in each denomination.
I checked our records just before listing this product and can tell you that this is just the second bundle of paper $10 notes that we've handled in the past decade.
Each and every note in this lot is crisp and natural; the 100 notes included are all consecutive; please keep in mind the clear strap is missing.
