This silver coin was sold exclusively at the 2010 Brisbane ANDA show.
In 1910 one of the most symbolic events in Australian Numismatic history took place; the introduction of coinage issued in the name of the Commonwealth of Australia.
The $1 silver proof coin issued to commemorate a century of Commonwealth coinage in Australia features the four monarchs that have appeared on Australian coinage over the past century across the reverse.
The portraits of King Edward VII (1901-1910), King George V (1910-1936), King George VI (1936-1952) and Queen Elizabeth II (1952-present), were all sculpted for this reverse design by the Mints Vladimir Gottwald.
The RAM decided to release this rare variation of this product at the Perth ANDA numismatic trade show, held at the Burswood Convention Centre in February 2010.
It is the first coin struck by the RAM to feature a "P" privy mark and is destined to have the very lowest mintage $1 silver proof coin released by the RAM to date.
The official mintage of 2,000 is much lower than anything ever released previously - the Barcelona Silver Coin Fair coin has a mintage of 2,500, and the 1997 $1 silver proof with the Type II Kingsford Smith reverse has a mintage of 2,480.
The coin, case, outer shipper, and certificate are all included and remain in excellent condition.
