This is a superb set that represents the entire span of the Perth Mint's sovereign production.
A complete set of sovereigns from the Perth Mint is a target that many sovereign collectors set themselves, particularly when first starting out.
In lightly circulated condtion, most of the dates in a Perth Mint sovereign set can be obtained for a modest premium over their metal value. As with any set though, there are a couple of coins that collectors really need to pay a premiun for if they really want to have a complete set.
Traditionally, the two most important dates in a set of Perth Mint sovereigns are the 1899 (which was the first year the Perth Mint began striking sovereigns) and the 1926.
Although 1,1297,625 gold sovereigns came out of the Perth Mint in 1926, this coin is far tougher to get in decent condition than this mintage might suggest.
As a special bonus in the purchase price of this set, we'll include the book released in 2005 by the Perth Mint that covers the history of Australia's Sovereigns.
Our current retail price for this coin is $1,250 - not only does it meaningfully increase the value of this set, it provides a comprehensive history of the history of sovereign production at the Perth Mint between 1899 and 1931.
The coins are presented in a custom-made Jarrah presentation case that the previous owner had made to house the collection.
