New Zealand 1956 Unissued One Pound Specimen Note Fleming
Reference Number: Pick# 159d
Quality Grade: good EF
Serials: 133 000000
Great paper quality, crisp and original.
British Commonwealth specimen notes from the middle of the 20th century are scarce, no matter which country we're talking about. Due to their history, exclusivity and rarity, New Zealand specimen banknotes are thought by some collectors and dealers to be excellent value for money - individual notes were sold for many thousands of dollars during the last bull market.
Since the last bull market came to a crashing halt in around the middle of 2012, prices have now settled into a range that genuine collectors are happy to participate in.
Although prices have come back considerably in the past few years, the notes themselves haven't become much easier to get.
This particular note has a light crease on the right-hand edge on the rear of the note, as well as several official notations in the top border on the front.
It looks to have been prepared a short time after the metallic security thread was introduced.
The paper quality remains crisp and natural.
