Part of the second 4-coin set of the Perth Mint's hugely popular privy mark series.
When the Perth Mint first released a privy mark coin in 1992, little did they know they were creating one of the most popular themes in decimal coin collecting for a very long time.
You wouldn't know it now, but collecting the Perth Mint's silver kookaburra coins featuring privy marks was all the rage throughout the 1990s.
Hallmarked by rarity and exclusivity, collectors lined up at their local coin shows in order to get them. Complete sets were selling at a premium and the secondary market was crazy.
The second four-coin series of privy marked kookaburras was based on the commemorative designs seen on our pre-decimal florins.
The 1951 Jubilee florin privy was the third in the series and had a tiny mintage of just 1,500.
This coin remains in its official case it was issued in and comes with its certificate of authenticity.
