2019 $1 Four Coin Privy Mark Set The Bold The Bad and the Ugly - Kelly Gang
One Dollar Uncirculated In Card 2019
ANDA Money Expo Sydney Privy Mark - Waratah
Mintage: 3,000
Just 3,000 of these coins were exclusively released at the 2019 Sydney Money Expo.
This coin is from what is easily the most popular area of decimal numismatics - more people collect carded one-dollar coins than any other decimal coin product.
It's an enduring series that started with the Barcelona dollars way back in 1992 and continues more than 2 decades later.
They're affordable, interesting, and often challenging.
A subset of the carded dollar coin series is the annual set of $1 coins that the RAM strikes for exclusive release at theANDA shows Money Expos. There's always an air of excitement when each show approaches - many of the coins have completely sold out.
They're easy for non-collectors to appreciate - perfect as a gift for the kids / grand-kids.
Even a non-collector can appreciate that a special coin with a letter on it is quite different to the coins they get in their change, when it's in a coloured card it makes it harder to split out and spend at the tuck shop. Who knows, work on a complete set with them over the year, and you might just get them started collecting.
2019 is the very first year that the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) has chosen to use images as privy marks on the Australian $1 coins that will be released at the four major numismatic events held throughout the year.
The floral emblem for each state will be used as privy marks - the NSW Waratah is the fourth and final coin in the series.
The images at the top of this page show the coin that the RAM struck for the Sydney show - this coin features a small "Waratah" privy mark above the "A" in "DOLLAR", and is in a light red presentation card.
